Ambassador of UAE calls on Speaker Ghimire

Kathmandu, June 13: United Arab Emirates (UAE) Ambassador Abdullah Saeed Mubarak Zarwan Al-Samsi called on Speaker Devraj Ghimire and held a meeting on June 12.

During the meeting, Speaker Ghimire expressed his satisfaction that there has been a good and friendly relationship between Nepal and the United Arab Emirates since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1977. He congratulated the UAE for the remarkable progress achieved in the fields of health, education, space technology, energy and innovation.

Speaker Ghimire praised the UAE government for providing employment opportunities to a large number of Nepali people and appealed to pay special attention to their employment and life security. About 4 lakh Nepalis are working in various fields in UAE alone.

UAE Ambassador Al Samsi informed that the Chairman of the Federal National Council of UAE will visit Nepal shortly. He said that the visit was scheduled last year but was postponed due to the election. Stating that the role of the Nepalese government and the federal parliament is expected to implement the agreements between the two countries, Al-Samsi also said that his country will always remember the contribution made by Nepali citizens for the construction of the UAE.
