Ex-vice chair Tulsi Narayan Shrestha arrested in the Balmandir land scam

Kathmandu, June 7: The Central Investigation Bureau (CIB) of Nepal Police has arrested Tulsi Narayan Shrestha, the former vice-chairman of the Balmandir, on the charge of being involved in illegally leasing the land owned by the Balmandir in Naxal.

The CIB arrested him today for further investigation.

CIB spokesperson SP Hobindra Bogti informed that he was arrested following a complaint that he had approved an agreement to cause a huge loss to Balmandir, a shelter home for those helpless children.  

About 29 ropanis of land in Naxal was given on lease by paying 1 crore 9 lakh rupees per year according to the last agreement. An arrest warrant was issued against 20 people on Baisakh 27 on the charge of conducting various activities on the land of Balmandir.
