
Kathmandu, June 6: Prime Minister Pushpakamal Dahal made a phone call to Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday and congratulated the latter for his victory as well as the victory of the alliance led by Modi in the general elections in India.
During the telephone conversation, both leaders hoped for extended cooperation in relations between the two countries.
Both the leaders briefly discussed strengthening bilateral relations in days to come, according to the Indian Embassy.
Indian PM Modi expressed his happiness to receive a call from PM Dahal and extended thanks to the latter.
The NDA led by Modi has bagged the necessary majority to form a new government and the meeting of the NDA decided to name Modi as the candidate to the post of the PM. Nevertheless, the BJP, which had formed a majority government in the past two terms, is needed to form a coalition government in India.
