
Kathmandu, June 6: Rashtriya Prajatantra Party Chairman Rajendra Lingden has requested Finance Minister Barshman Pun to withdraw the tax imposed on electric vehicles.
Speaker Lingden, while discussing the budget for the financial year 2081/082 in the House of Representatives meeting, asked to withdraw the tax imposed on electric vehicles. He said that it is not appropriate to tax electric vehicles when the country needs to increase the consumption of electricity within the country.
Chairman Lingden said that it is not appropriate to tax electric vehicles just to increase revenue in the interests of some people. He said that the budget has always been brought based on estimates, grants and loans, and it has always failed. He also said that the gap between capital expenditure and current expenditure has increased and there is no attempt to narrow it.
