Kathmandu, June 5: Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) Vice President Jonathan Brooks paid a courtesy call to Finance Minister Barshman Pun. A team led by vice chairman Brooks, who is on a visit to Nepal, paid a courtesy call on Minister Pun at the Finance Ministry at Singha Durbar on Tuesday.
In the meeting, Minister Pun said that the government is committed to completing the work of the MCC project on the predetermined date. He mentioned that there will be necessary cooperation and coordination in the work to be done on behalf of the Ministry to complete the project on time. “The government is committed to completing the MCC Compact Projects on time and that will remain,” the Minister said.
He expressed his confidence that the project under the MCC would be completed on time. Minister Pun assured that problems like land compensation, and use of forest area will be resolved through MCA Nepal during the implementation of the project.
Vice President Brooks informed about the progress being made in the construction of electricity transmission lines and roads under the MCC project. He said that the progress of the project so far is satisfactory.
