Future of Tarai

BABBLES

By Babbler

A section of political leaders talk about the Tarai identity but they are not concerned about the drought in Tarai which may turn the entire Tarai districts into a desert. The very leaders are protecting those businessmen who are illegally exploiting the Chure Hills, the lifeline of Tarai. Due to the excessive exploitation of the Chur Hills – deforestation, taking out boulders and sand from rivers and exporting them to India, many problems have surfaced in the Tarai districts.

A group of affected people from the Tarai districts has arrived in Kathmandu on foot. They are asking to save the Chure Hills and manage the necessary water. Is the government ready to listen to them? Will the political leaders become serious about the future of the Tarai districts? Are they serious about the climate change effects?

Thanks to Balen

We have seen only one man with guts who loves the heritage of the Kathmandu Valley. Balen is alone among the crowd of those party leaders’ bag-porters (party workers).

Balen dared to dispose of garbage near the Maoist Center’s party headquarters. He dumped a truck of dust in front of the Ministry for Physical Infrastructure and Transportation protesting against the delayed construction of the Kalanki-Balaju Ringroad section.

We are aware that Minister Raghubir Mahaseth is a corrupt person. We were informed that when the JICA wanted to construct a tunnel road in the Bhaktapur-Banepa section with a Japanese grant, Mahaseth rejected the project saying that it was very costly. Later, JICA cancelled it.

The Ringroad Expansion Project has blamed the Chinese construction company for the delay in the project, the reality is that as per the agreement, the Nepal government should clear the site before starting the construction works. We have been informed that the government has still not cleared the site.

The revenue target

The government is unable to meet the revenue target due to the ambitious budget.

The government is in deficit and managing funds through debts. Until now, the government’s debt burden is 24 trillion rupees and to meet the revenue target, each day it should collect six billion rupees.

We all are aware that due to the federal structure and increased general sector expenditure to feed those 36 thousand people’s representatives, the government is always under pressure. The debt burden is on the borderline and at times, it may fall into a crisis. Think timely about reducing the unproductive sector expenditure.

QUOTES OF THE WEEK

If anyone has a love for this nation, it is the native Tarai people. When the foreign-funded journalists, actors, film directors, lawyers, political parties and leaders came out in support of the media mafia Kailash Shirohia, a true Nepali from Tarai filed a case against Sirohia’s fake citizenship certificate.

Arjun Gyawali

If once a man becomes a party worker, he can never become a man again.

Babu Lal Bhandari

After the deterioration in politics, many people take BP’s name for their rescue.

Madhu Raman Acharya

International powers left no stone unturned to interfere in Nepal’s internal affairs, just as they protested the arrest of Sirohia. If we look at it from that point of view, it is confirmed that all the events in the past took place with the direct involvement of the Nepali media, civic leaders, old parties foreign powers.

Dhurba Adhikari

The party leaders have faults and weaknesses. The leaders have also become a star of public anger. Leaders are forced to improve when people’s awareness/conscience is awakened.

There is also a large non-political group that does not want to be directly involved in politics but exercises political power unsolicited. It is difficult to reform this group without public accountability.

Surya Raj Acharya

Sher Bahadur Deuba is a bad guy, more than Deuba, Gagan Thapa is bad. If Gagan comes to power, the country will be finished.

Dr Amresh Kumar Singh

The main characters of the 12-point agreement are Prachanda, Baburam Bhattarai and Girija Prasad Koirala and Sonia Gandhi, Pranab Mukherjee, Shyam Sharan, T Hormiz and SD Muni. Krishna Sitaula, Sher Bahadur Deuba and Madhab Nepal played supporting roles.

Devprakash Tripathi

Perhaps, the nation has been destroyed due to the 12-point agreement but our leaders are more responsible than the foreigners for this. Greedyness for power and the crime committed by them against the state are beyond the imagination of an individual, yet, they have no regret for their deeds.

Surendra Regmi

King Mahendra set the ceiling of land and the communist leaders are allowed to sell the land above the ceiling! Who is progressive and who is regressive?

Baral Arune

When the police detained him after the court ordered his arrest for the investigation of his citizenship, it was natural for the Nepali Congress to shout as it was serving its boss’ interests.
