The global politics is changing the course. The USA is engaged in the election and is suffering from an economic recession. The USA is in a crisis and its currency may lose its global domination in future. Europe may face serious consequences from the global recession and from the impact of the Russia-Ukraine war. The recent strategic partnership agreed by Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin speaks a lot. Moreover, the two leaders, during last week’s summit in Beijing, agreed to develop a multipolar world by discarding the unipolar domination of the USA. To sum up, the world is passing through a crisis.
Amidst an odd global scenario, the Nepali political leaders are fighting for power and are involved in rampant daylight loot. They are not concerned about what is happening in the South Asian region, in Europe, in the USA, in China and in Russia. The Nepali leaders are less bothered about what strategy should Nepal take for strengthening Nepali sovereignty, independence, and existence in such a crucial period. Parliament has turned into a battlefield as the MPs from the ruling alliance and the opposition parties are exhibiting their mussel in the House meeting. There are dozens of important bills impending in the House, yet, the MPs are not able to endorse them, despite, they are taking salaries and allowances from the government coffer without shame.
Ex-foreign intelligence officials are publicly blaming those leaders are their agents but the alleged leaders are not able to clarify against such serious blame.
Moreover, the leaders are blamed for being involved in various corruption and commission cases. The very leaders, who are blamed for being foreign agents, are also involved in daylight loot.
Deputy Prime Minister and Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane, addressing the House meeting, made serious allegations against NC leader Gagan Thapa for being a foreign agent. Also, he blamed other leaders, including Dhanraj Gurung, NC president Sher Bahadur Deuba and his spouse, Arzu Rana, among others, for being involved in different scandals while defending himself on the cooperatives fraud cases. All are in the same boat, and all are naked and trying their best to suppress the corruption charges labelled on them. What a political tamasha is it!
