
Kathmandu, May 16: Minister for Tourism, Civil Aviation and Culture, Hit Bahadur Tamang visited the Nepal Airlines’ head office today.
Secretary at the Ministry, Dr Ganesh Pandey was also present on the occasion.
Executive chairman of the Corporation, Ubraj Adhikari briefed the Minister about the NAC activities and also presented a review report of the fiscal year 2080/81 and the yearly calendar for the new fiscal year 2081/82.
The event was attended by all the departmental chiefs and station chiefs from 10 international destinations, among others.
On the occasion, executive chairman Adhikari asked the minister for exemption of the customs duty on the in-flight food and beverages items, spare parts of the aircraft, and tax on the fuel as such facilities are being enjoyed by the national flag carriers in other countries.
Adhikari also demanded amendment of the laws related to salary and facilities and procurement laws and regulations to strengthen the capability of the Airlines.
Minister Tamang said that he will continue his support in favour of the Corporation’s welfare.
The Minister asked the NAC staffers to work for the betterment of the national flag carrier.
