Kathmandu, May 16: As expected, the meeting of the House of the Federal Parliament has been adjourned immediately after the start of the meeting on Thursday evening.
Nepali Congress (NC) came out in protest after the government tried to run the parliament session ignoring the demand for the formation of a parliamentary inquiry committee on the embezzlement of cooperative money on Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane. Amid sloganeering by NC lawmakers, the Speaker announced that Home Minister Lamichhane to address the House. Lamichanne could not reach the rostrum due to the obstruction by the NC lawmakers.
The lawmakers from NC and UML even demonstrated their physical strength.
Speaker Devraj Ghimire informed that the meeting has been adjourned till 11 pm on Friday.
