Norwegian ambassador calls on VP Yadav

Kathmandu, May 9: Norwegian ambassador, Torun Drumdal, had a courtesy meeting with Vice President Ramsahay Prasad Yadav on Thursday.

After the exchange of greetings at the Vice President’s office in Lainchaur, issues such as bilateral relations between the two countries, democracy, human rights and social justice were discussed

Vice President Yadav mentioned that Norway is a close friend of Nepal and said that since the establishment of diplomatic relations in 1973, the relations between Nepal and Norway have been friendly and cordial.

 “Democracy, human rights, and social justice are common values ​​and beliefs of our two countries,” he said, “exchange of visits and dialogue at the high-level political leadership and diplomatic level, development cooperation, people-to-people relations, investment and trade, tourism, etc. are the cornerstones of Nepal-Norway relations. More cooperation in these areas for mutual benefit is the need of the day.

Vice President Yadav said that Nepal has given high priority to the relationship with Norway as a development partner. “The work done by the Norwegian government, especially in the field of renewable energy, education and good governance, is useful for Nepal,” he said. 

“We are hopeful that the friendly country Norway will continue to support and help Nepal in its development path”, the VP said.
