UML candidate wins in Bajhang, leading in Ilam

Kathmandu, April 29: UML candidate Damanbahadur Bhandari won the election for the Province Council member from Bajhang 1 by-election. 

Bhandari left behind his nearest rival Nepali Congress’ Abhishek Bahadur Singh by 266 votes. 

Bhandari bagged 11 thousand 612 votes, whereas, Singh bagged 11 thousand 346 votes. 

In Ilam, UML’s candidate for the post of member of the House of Representatives, Suhang Nembang, son of deceased UML leader Subhas Nembang, is leading with a big margin against the Nepali Congress candidate Dambar Khadka. 

According to the latest report, Nembang has bagged 12 thousand 405 votes against his nearest rival Nepali Congress’ Dambad Khadka’s 7882 votes. 

The independent candidate campaigning for identity, Dakendra Thegim has bagged 7769 votes and Rastriya Swatantra Party candidate Milan Limbu has bagged 1636 votes.
