Kathmandu, April 22: The narrow-body aircraft of the Nepal Airlines Corporation, which was in Israel for engine repair for a long time, will be arriving in Kathmandu today.
During a discussion with the media at Singh Darbar on Sunday, Culture, Tourism and Civil Aviation Minister Hit Bahadur Tamang said that the officials of the Corporation informed that the aircraft will be brought to Nepal on Monday.
He said that since he came to the ministry, he has received continuous information about the aircraft being grounded. According to the agreement, the corporation is going to claim compensation as the Israeli company was unable to deliver the aircraft on time, the minister said.
Minister Tamang said that discussions are underway to lift the ban on European airspace for Nepali aircraft.
He informed that this year’s Everest Day will be observed on May 29 at the Mount Everest base camp in the presence of the Prime Minister.
