Investment agreement between Global IME Bank and GIZ

Kathmandu, April 6: Global IME Bank Limited has entered into an agreement with GIZ, which is owned by the German government, to invest in electric public transport in Nepal. GIZ is conducting the ‘Nepal for Long-term Electric Transport’ project with the investment of Mitigation Action Facility in collaboration with the Government of Nepal, Ministry of Physical Infrastructure and Transport.

Global IME Bank is going to invest in electric public transport with the aim of increasing the use of electric vehicles in Nepal. It is said that the project will increase the use of electric vehicles in public transport, increase the consumption of electricity produced in the country and help create a clean environment.

In addition, the bank believes that the number of electric vehicles in the public transport service will increase, the access of the common people will be expanded, the consumption of petroleum products will decrease, and the environmental pollution caused by vehicles will also decrease. In order to promote electric vehicles, Global IME Bank has been providing loans to personal vehicles at minimum interest rates.
