Kathmandu, March 15: Deepesh Pun, son of the former vice president, Nandakishor Pun, and general secretary of the ANFSU-Revolutionary, a student organization of the Maoist Center, has been arrested by the police on the charge of being involved in gold smuggling.
Pun was arrested from Dhapashi in Kathmandu today.
Earlier, Prime Minister Pushpakamal Dahal, receiving the report submitted by the commission for investigating on the gold smuggling scandal from Home Minister Rabi Lamichhane, had asked to conduct an operation on the scam freely.
