PM Dahal to seek vote of confidence on Wednesday

Kathmandu, March 10: Prime Minister Pushpakamal Dahal has wished to seek a vote of confidence from the House of Representatives on Wednesday, March 13, reports state.

PM Dahal has asked all the MPs belonging to the Maoist Center not to leave Kathmandu for this purpose.

Meanwhile, Minister for Women, Children, and Senior Citizens Bhagawati Chaudhari, who was scheduled to go to the USA, has cancelled her trip.

After the Janata Samajwadi Party joined the government, the Dahal-led government is sure to manage a comfortable majority. A total of 138 votes are needed for the government to ensure a vote of confidence.

The present strength of the ruling alliance is 152 including UML 78, Maoist Center 32, Rastriya Swatantra Party 21, Janata Samajwadi Party 12 and the Unified Socialist Party 10. So far, the speaker, who represents UML, cannot cast his vote.
