Maoist Center calls central office bearers’ meeting to select NA chair’s candidate

Kathmandu, March 10: The Maoist Center has called its central office bearers’ meeting for today to select the candidate for the post of National Assembly chairman.

The candidates should file their candidacies by Monday, March 11, and an election is going to be held on March 12.

The possible candidate for the post of National Assembly chairman is present vice chairman Urmila Aryal. Besides, Jhakku Prasad Subedi and Narayan Dahal are also possible candidates.

The UML and Maoist Center have agreed to support the Maoist candidate for the post of chairman and to support the UML candidate for the post of NA vice chairman.

According to the agreement, the post of vice chairman should be made vacant for the UML candidate.

The Nepali Congress has also decided to give candidature to the post of NA chairman. Krishna Shitaula is going to contest the election, and his defeat is almost sure.
