Kathmandu, March 4: The newly appointed three ministers under the new alliance government have taken the oath of office and secrecy.
Three ministers have been appointed with the status of ministers without portfolios. They are, Hitbahadur Tamang from the Maoist Center, Padam Giri from the UML, and DP Aryal from the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP). They took the oath of office from President Ramchandra Paudel at Sittal Niwas, the President’s Office.
The alliance partners are yet to finalize the portfolio sharing, and the ministers appointed today have remained at the status of ministers without portfolios.
Both UML and RSP have claimed the home portfolio. Accordingly, the Maoist Center and UML have decided to cooperate and share in the provincial government. In this regard, there will be a change in the provincial governments as well.
The new coalition government led by Pushpakamal Dahal is supported by the UML, RSP, and Janata Samajwadi Party (JSP). Other small parties are in a position of “wait and see”, the RPP has made it clear that it will not join the government, instead, it is preparing for a nationwide movement to change the existing political system.
