Though the government has followed a liberal economic policy, there is no perceptible impact on our economy because of the various shortcomings, said Dr Yadav Prasad Pant, a former finance minister.
He said, though some positive results have emerged from the policy of free convertibility on the current account, our liberalization has not been that successful, but in India it has been quite successful.
Dr Pant said it is due to a lack of coordination between the ministries and between the financial institutions. There are various shortcomings in our policy and implementation, he said.
