After the beginning of spring, the Sino-US game will have a wave of climax. Chinese society traditionally presses the pause button and sleeps for half a month during the Spring Festival. Then it quickly returns to its normal working speed and intensity.
China and the US are currently engaged in a battle in the financial sector. China abruptly sacked the head of its securities regulator just before the Lunar New Year and installed a new one. On February 19, the first day of trading after the Chinese New Year, the index rose sharply, and it is possible to bounce out of the bottom. If this rebound can be sustained for a long time, it means that China has begun to turn the defensive into the offensive in the financial war.
The last stage of the Soviet-American game in the last century began with the cognitive war in the early 1980s and ended with the financial war in the 1990s. The result was perfect for the US — letting the Soviet Union collapse without firing a shot, and reaping astronomical amounts of resources and wealth as a result. So much so that President Clinton was on TV, laughing in front of the world, laughing so much that he bent over and couldn’t even close his mouth.
Once you’ve had it once, you’re absolutely addicted to the experience. So the US decided to replicate the experience of dismantling and reaping the Soviet Union in China.
The same trick is being applied to China as it was applied to the Soviet Union. First, brainwash the Chinese elite. The Chinese elite has accepted brainwashing en masse without putting up any serious resistance. They practiced English hard, were deeply intoxicated by Hollywood movies, eagerly read books written by Western elites, sought after Western fashion brands, learned to taste Western wine and Western food, and so on until they openly advocated “total Westernization.”
At the same time, the Chinese elite has been transferring wealth to the US and Western countries, buying assets, and settling their families and lovers with their wealth. As a result, a strong American and Western comprador force naturally emerged among the elite.
The Sino-American game is actually a game between China and the US and the comprador forces that exist within Chinese society and are incubated by the US. It is the comprador power within that is the most lethal, as it was during the collapse of the Soviet Union.
The comprador power that serves the US does not exist only in China but in other countries around the world. After decades of world dominance, it is only natural that the US has incubated a pervasive comprador power to serve its own interests. Nepal is no exception. The MCC is a monument to these comprador forces in Nepal and their glory.
