Kathmandu, February 8: The Commission for Investigation on Abuse of Authority (CIAA) has filed a case at the Special Court against 227 individuals on the charge of owning government land illegally.
After investigating 30 bighas of precious land owned by the government which was distributed to the leaders of the political parties, their relatives and party workers, the CIAA has filed the case today.
During the Panchayat days, 30 bighas of land were allotted for the Tikapur Development Committee in Kailali District.
King Mahendra, while developing a new settlement area in Tikapur, Kailali, allotted the land with the plan of infrastructural development.
The CIAA has been investigating the disposal of government land for a long time.
Now, the CIAA has filed a case against 227 persons, including three ex-chairmen of the Committee, who are related to owning government land.
