Kathmandu, February 6: Nepali Congress leader from Jhapa District, Keshab Kumar Budhathoki, popularly known as Kumar Budhathoki, died on Monday night while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Biratnagar.
The family source has informed that he took his last breath at around 11.30 on Monday night.
He was suffering from a kidney-related disease and undergoing treatment at the Birat Nursing Home in Biratnagar.
His last rites are going to be performed at the Kankai River today (Tuesday).
The late Budhathoki, who was active in politics since the Panchayat days, joined the Nepali Congress after multiparty democracy was introduced in the country.
He became the minister and was elected a member of the House of Representatives from a constituency in Jhapa.
He has written a memoir, “Afno, Afno Sagarmatha” based on his life.
