Kathmandu, February 1: Nepali Congress leader Dr. Shashank Koirala claimed that Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal has failed in running the government and said that now Madhav Nepal should be made the prime minister.
“The prime minister himself is not satisfied with the functioning of the government,” he said, “That means Prachanda’s government is a failure.”
Madhav Nepal should be made Prime Minister as per the gentleman agreement without delay, he argued.
Speaking to the media persons in Kawasoti on Thursday, Koirala opined that the long-term approach and economic aspects are important in running the government.
“Prachanda has failed in both of these matters,” Koirala said, “Now Madhav Nepal should be named as the Prime Minister as per the prior agreement of the parties without delay.”
He said that Sher Bahadur Deuba should be the prime minister and hold elections after Madhav Nepal. “This is a consensus government. I think that everyone should follow the prior agreement,” said Koirala.
Koirala informed that the issue of Hindu nation and federalism will be raised in the Mahasamitti meeting of the Congress to be held in Kathmandu in the first week of February. Koirala said that even though federalism is written in the constitution, in practice, the center is ruling, so this matter will be discussed in the Congress Mahasamiti meeting along with the Hindu agenda.
