Jibaram Bhandari bags Gobinda Biyogi Journamism Award

Kathmandu, January 15: Senior journalist and news chief of Yoho Television, Jibaram Bhandari, is being rewarded with the “Gobinda Biyogi Journalism Award, 2024. 

Bhandari is being felicitated with the award amidst a function being organized at Suryachour, Nuwakot, on Saturday, January 20.

The recent meeting of the Editors’ Society Of Nepal (ESON) approved Bhandari’s name for the award.

The Society has also decided to reward a senior journalist from Nuwakot, Sharan Utsav, with the Gobinda Biyogi Special Journalism Award for his long-standing contribution to print journalism by staying out of the capital city.   

Accordingly, the Society decided to felicitate senior journalist and former chairman of the Rastriya Samachar Samiti (RSS), and Manteshwori Rajbhandari, who made a remarkable contribution to the establishment and development of community radio in the country.

ESON has established different awards in fond memory of the founding chairman and senior journalist, Gobinda Biyogi. The Society has also constructed a building in the name of the late Biyogi and runs a journalism research center in Suryachaur, Nuwakot. 

The Center provides accommodation along with a well-equipped library for local and foreign journalists who want to conduct research.
