Kathmandu, January 12: Bitterness has intensified between Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal and the leadership of the ruling Janmaat Party. The leaders of the ruling coalition say that the allocation of seats in the National Assembly has further muddied things.
The Janamat Party had claimed one seat. The Nepali Congress, Maoist Center, United Socialists, and Janata Samajwadi did not give one seat to the Janamat Party out of the 20 seats in the National Assembly. When the other parties in the alliance were not ready to give even one seat, Janmaat president CK Raut walked out of the meeting.
Spokesperson Sharad Singh says that the alliance has ignored public opinion and is calling it a small party. “We also have the right to be represented in both houses of the people who have become a national party,” Singh said.
The Prime Minister is also dissatisfied with the Janamat Party. The Prime Minister believes that the Janamat Party has acted against the coalition while being in the ruling coalition. PM Dahal was dissatisfied with the demonstration by the Janamat Party in the area of prohibition recently.
Dhoti Day was observed on 1 January by the Jamamat Party violating the prohibited area. CK Raut, former minister Abdul Khan and others were detained by the security officials for being involved in a demonstration at the prohibited area.
