During India’s External Affairs Minister, Dr. S. Jaishankar’s visit to Nepal, an odd scene was noticed in Kathmandu.
During his two-day visit, Nepal’s former prime ministers queued at the Battisputali-based Dwarika’s Hotel to see him.
Normally, the visiting minister calls on the former prime ministers. But in Nepal’s case, it was otherwise.
Nepal’s former prime ministers went to the hotel to pay a courtesy call to India’s External Affairs Minister Dr. Jaishankar. Fortunately, President Ramchandra Paudel and Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal did not walk to Dwarika’s Hotel to see him.
But other former Prime Ministers—Sher Bahadur Deuba, KP Sharma Oli and Madhav Kumar Nepal and former Deputy Prime Minister Upendra Yadav–reached Dwarika’s Hotel turn by turn to receive Jaishankar’s audience.
