Kathmandu, 6 January: 10 million six hundred forty thousand rupees worth Veti (cash offered to God) collected from the Mayadevi Temple in Lumbini, the birthplace of Lord Buddha.
The cash dropped at the “Donation Box” was counted on Friday, said Dhundiraj Bhattarai, treasurer, Lumbini Development Trust.
Last year, the Trust collected 6 million 476 thousand rupees from the “Donation Box” kept at the temple.
