Kathmandu, 1 January 2024: Nepalis observe the first day of the English calendar as National Dress Day and also National Cap Day. As today is the first day of the English calendar 2024, the Nepalis in the country and abroad observe the day by wearing a national dress and national cap.
When the new constitution removed the compulsory dress code, some spontaneous youths, to preserve Nepali culture and tradition, decided to observe January 1 as the national dress and cap day, which has been accepted by all Nepali nationals.
