Kathmandu, 29 December: The Yeti Airlines aircraft accident in Pokhara on 15 January occurred due to human error, stated the Commission constituted for the investigation of the accident.
The Commission submitted the report to the Minister for Tourism and Civil Aviation, Sudan Kirati, on Thursday. The Commission was constituted by the government to investigate the Yeti Airlines aircraft accident in Pokhara.
The Commission, chaired by former secretary Nagendra Prasad Ghimire, suggested the constitution of a permanent committee to investigate possible air accidents in future according to the guidelines of the International Civil Aviation Authority.
Lack of necessary training for the pilot, lack of necessary knowledge about the newly constructed airport, and pilots avoiding flying regulations were the reasons for the accident, causing a huge human loss, as stated in the report.
