Kathmandu, 28 December: The Nepali Congress is going to observe “National Unity and Reconciliation Day” on 1 Jaunary 2024 recalling the day when the party’s founder, the late BP Koirala, returned to Nepal from a self-exile in India.
Since then, the NC has been observing this event every year.
BP Koirala, Ganeshman Singh, Shailaja Acharya, and Khum Bahadur Khadka, among other leaders, had returned to Nepal from years-long self-exile in India.
Koirala returned to Nepal in 2033 BS with the ideology of reconciliation between the King and the Nepali Congress to save the nation’s sovereignty and independence.
NC is organizing the event at the Nepal Academy in Kamaladi, where NC Pesident Sher Bahadur Deuba, UML chair KP Sharma Oli, Prime Minister Pushpakamal Dahal, leaders Madhav Kumar Nepal, Upendra Yadav, Mahantha Thakur are going to address.
