In a momentous tribute to the profound contributions of renowned author, philosopher, and creator of the Narconon drug prevention and rehabilitation program, L. Ron Hubbard, the people of Nuwakot district have officially designated a section of the road leading to Narconon Kakani as “L.R. Hubbard’s Road.”
The formal inauguration took place under the presence of Suman Tamang, the chairman of Kakani Village, who expressed heartfelt gratitude to L.R. Hubbard for his monumental contribution to the preservation of our planet. L.R. Hubbard’s legacy spans diverse roles, including author, philosopher, cameraman, captain, and pilot, but his enduring impact is also prominently embodied in the Narconon program.
For over half a century, Narconon, based on L.R. Hubbard’s work, has been instrumental in saving millions of lives globally. Rejecting the notion of drug addiction as an incurable, lifelong disease, Hubbard’s innovative approach treats individuals as students rather than addicts. The program encompasses courses such as withdrawal, detoxification, and life skills, all rooted in a social education model, accompanied by essential vitamin and mineral support.
L.R. Hubbard’s philosophy, disseminated worldwide with the assistance of the International Association of Scientology, William Benedict, and ABLE International, has found a crucial foothold in Asia through the efforts of former S.S.P Basanta Raj Kunwar and his family. Today, Narconon centers in Taiwan and Nepal stand as beacons of hope, with Kakani hosting a model training facility for the region.
In recognition of Hubbard’s monumental impact, the mountain upon which the Kakani Center stands was previously named Hubbards Peak. The recent dedication of L.R. Hubbard’s Road further underscores the profound influence his philosophy has had in combating the scourge of addiction, potentially benefiting the estimated 320 million individuals globally trapped in the clutches of drug abuse.
During the successful inauguration event at Kakani Narconon organized by D.E.D. Avaya Jung Kunwar, former S.S.P and coordinator for Southeast Asia, Basanta Raj Kunwar, extended gratitude to L.R. Hubbard, marking the occasion with the participation of opinion leaders, locals, chief security officers, and representatives from Nuwakot district. The ceremony served as a poignant celebration of L.R. Hubbard’s enduring legacy and the positive impact of Narconon in the ongoing battle against addiction.
