Six judges appointed to the Supreme Court

President Ramchandra Paudel has appointed 6 judges to the Supreme Court after approval by the Parliamentary Hearing Committee of the Federal Parliament. Shailaja Regmi Bhattarai, Spokesperson of the President’s Office, said that according to Article 129 (2) of the Constitution, the Supreme Court Judge has been appointed on the recommendation of the Judicial Council.

Saranga Subedi, Abdul Aziz Muslim, Mahesh Sharma Paudel, Tek Prasad Dhungana, Sunil Kumar Pokharel and Balkrishna Dhakal have been appointed as judges of the Supreme Court. Subedi, Muslim, Paudel and Dhungana were earlier judges of the High Court while Pokharel and Dhakal are senior advocates.

The newly appointed judges took oaths of office amidst a function from the President at Sittal Niwas on Thursday.
