Kathmandu, 22 December: Nepal Airlines Corporation (Nepal Airlines) has issued a notice for the auction of five aircraft made in China. Nepal Airlines is going to dispose of two MA-60 and three Y-12E aircraft through an auction. These China-made aeroplanes have been grounded at Tribhuvan International Airport for the past three years.
The aircraft are going to be auctioned in the as-it-is condition. Whoever quotes the highest price will get the aircraft. A secret sealed tender has been called by the Corporation. The application deadline is until 4 February.
The Corporation had a total of 6 aircraft. One of them was damaged in an accident at Nepalgunj airport three years ago. Other 5 aircraft (two MA 60 and 3 Y12E) are going to be auctioned.
