Confusion prevails in the country amidst conflicting reports on the manner and course of the Congress-Left talks which are said to hold the key to the future of the programmed left agitation. The Left is said to be going over final decisions regarding the talks and may likely go public on the agitation on Monday (today).
The Congress, on the other hand, has used the public media to pronounce the result as successful. The left denies the success and claims that the agitation set for August 20th is on. The radical Left which partners with the UML, on the other hand, has begun making noises that a UML backed with the government as on previous occasions will not be to alter.
The UML itself is being heard grumbling that pacts with Congress are not kept by the Congress as was illustrated in a six-point agreement in the last year.
