Kathmandu, 18 December: The Tribhuvan University is observing its 49th convocation ceremony at the Tripureswor-based Dasharath Stadium, due to which the Kathmandu traffic has gone out of control.

President Ram Chandra Paudel is attending the ceremony as the chief guest.

Likewise, TU’s Chancellor and Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal will also participate in the convocation ceremony.

According to the Examination Controller of the TU Examination Control Office, Pushparaj Joshi, a total of 12,415 students are participating in the convocation ceremony this year.

Various medals and awards will be distributed on the occasion, according to the TU.

To manage the President and other VIP’s visits, the Traffic Police has diverted vehicles around the Tripureshwor area, which has affected vehicle movement all around Kathmandu city.

As the Traffic Police diverted vehicles during office hour, traffic jams were experienced in Kathmandu and Lalitpur roads.
