Distinguished personalities honored by Kathmandu Metropolitan City

Kathmandu, 16 December: The Kathmandu Metropolitan City has honored personalities who have made special contributions to society. 

On the occasion of the 29th Establishment Day of the Metropolis, the Metropolitan Corporation held a special ceremony at the capital’s Sainik Manch and awarded senior ophthalmologist Sanduk Ruit to artists, sportsmen, engineers, writers and others. 

Those who have been honored are professor senior ophthalmologist Sanduk Ruit, actress Manisha Koirala, writer Durgalal Shrestha Janakavi, Olympian Vaikunth Manandhar, structural engineer Manoharlal Rajbhandari.

Additional Inspector General of Nepal Police Mira Chaudhary, former football captain Balgopal Maharjan, former cricket captain Paras Khadka, karate player Erica Gurung, basket player Captain Savina Shrestha and karate coach Kedareshwaraman Sattala have been honored. They were rewarded with one lakh 50 thousand rupees each. The chief guest of the ceremony and Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal presented them with certificates of appreciation.
