Kathmandu, 16 December: The Mahasamiti meeting of the Nepali Congress (NC) has been postponed.
To avoid a possible adverse impact on the upcoming national assembly elections, party president Sher Bahadur Deuba decided to postpone the Mahasamiti meeting before the NA elections.
Opposition camp leader Sekhar Koirala also supported Deuba’s idea and the meeting of the Central Work Performance Committee held on Friday decided to defer the Mahasamiti meeting for 19 to 22 February.
Earlier, the NC had called the Mahasamiti meeting for 29 December.
A strong group of the NC is against the present coalition and also against Deuba’s attitude which has defamed the party.
