Kathmandu, 16 December: Civic leaders protested against the designated prohibited area in Maitighar Mandala of Kathmandu.
On Friday afternoon, a rally was taken out from Ratnapark in Kathmandu to Bhadrakali Temple, protesting against the local administration’s decision to declare Maitighar a prohibited area.
A massive civil movement, shark loan victims, and supporters of the deceased Aarti Shah participated in the protest rally.
The Kathmandu District Administration Office had declared Maitighar as a prohibited area for a month targeting the Durga Prasain’s demonstration on 6 Mangsir.
The civilian leaders protested that the freedom of speech was being violated by prohibiting the places where such demonstrations were to be held.
