Ex-home minister Khand is being released today

Kathmandu, 15 December: Ex-home minister Balkrishna Khand is being released today after seven months of judicial custody.

Khand was arrested by the special police team for being involved in sending Nepal nationals covered in fake Bhutanese refugees to the USA.

Judge Krishnaram Koirala’s single bench of the Lalitpur High Court on 14 December had agreed to release Khand on a general date by taking a bond of 3 million rupees.

After producing a bond worth 3 million rupees today, Khand is going to be released, according to the advocate pleading on behalf of Khand. 

Khand will also be presented at the money laundering and CIAA offices after his release.
