The government-owned media have intensified their propaganda that the relief measures are being implemented on a war-footing and that the volume of relief assistance both in cash and kind from abroad and national resources has been swelling up almost daily. The huge amount of funds and relief materials are stored up under the government control. However, the bitter reality is this that many of the people anguishing under indescribable wants of food medicines and shelter wrought by the recent floods have not been able to received any relief worth the name.
