Alliance with communists turns costly for Nepali Congress: Shekhar Koirala

Kathmandu, 9 December: Nepali Congress leader Dr. Shekhar Koirala has said that the Congress should not develop an alliance with communist parties. He said this while addressing a Gajal collection penned by Rita Shahi, in Kathmandu on Friday.

If the NC needed to develop an alliance, it should be done with the democratic parties. If the alliance with communist parties continues, the existence of Congress will end, he said.

Koirala said that if the country is to be changed, it is necessary to change the Nepali Congress and move forward. He said that it is important to think about whether to develop an alliance befor or after elections.

Dr. Koirala said, “Alliance is a must in the present election system. But NC should think about an alliance with the democratic forces.”
