Kathmandu, 3 December: Durga Prasain, who has launched the Campaign for Save the Nation, Nationality, Religion, Culture and Citizens, has argued that monarchy is necessary to maintain lasting peace in the country.
Addressing a public assembly at Lagankhel in Lalitpur on Saturday, Prasain argued that monarchy is necessary to maintain permanent peace in the country, as republicanism has not been able to ensure lasting peace.
He demanded a referendum on the issue of the executive prime minister, Hindu nation and monarchy.
Prasain said that he has been restricted from attending different programs, but he is not going to suffer from such an act of the government, rather, those who have imposed such an order, will be affected.
