Thousands of people greet former King Gyanendra

Kathmandu, 25 November: Former King Gyanendra, who reached Birtamod, Jhapa to unveil a statue of Great King Prithivi Narayan Shah, founder of modern Nepal, is greeted by thousands of locals. The King reached the programme venue this afternoon by walking about one km.

Rajendra Lingden, chairman, Rastriya Prajatantra Party, escorted the former King to the programme venue. 

The King is going to unveil the statue at the yard of the Eastern Empire College of Hotel Management in Birtamod Municipality-1.

King Gyanendra reached Jhapa on Friday to attend the function.

RPP is going to honour the King by organizing a civic reception today.
