Kathmandu, 25 November: Nepal has imported 13 billion rupees worth of food items in the past four months. The food items include rice, maize, wheat, and paddy.
Nepal is an agricultural country, and these items can be grown within the country; however, due to the negligence made both by the government and the farmers, Nepal is importing such food items from foreign markets.
According to the Customs Department, in the past four months, Nepal imported food items worth 13 billion, 164 million, and 170 thousand rupees.
Nepal imports such food items from India, China, Argentina, South Africa, Indonesia, Mexico, Thailand, and Malaysia, among other countries.
