Is former Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala to replace party president Krishna Prasad Bhattarai? Political observers here have been speculating on that question ever since the meeting of the central working committee last month, wherein Bhattarai disclosed that his health was not very good and that, as such, he was unable to tour the country as desired by the party workers.
According to a highly placed NC source, Bhattarai also said that in the present circumstances, the individual who was best equipped to lead the party was Koirala. He also said that Koirala was physically able to visit all regions of the country. Bhattarai emphasized that Koirala was the most suitable candidate to lead the party, whether elections could be held soon or not.
