Kathmandu, 15 November: Today is Bhai Tika, the final day of the five-day-long Tihar Festival.
The Panchanga Nirnayak Samati has declared that 10.51 am is the auspicious time to receive tika; however, those who cannot catch the time may take tika the whole day.
Bhai Tika is a festival celebrated by sisters to their brothers by offering tika and gifts wishing good health, long life, and prosperity. Brothers also exchange gifts for their sisters. After receiving Tika, the brothers also offer tika to their sisters.
The priests have suggested receiving tika by facing towards the east and sisters should face towards the west.
Those who do not have a brother or sister visit the Balgopashwar Temple at Ranipokhari. The temple will remain open for today only.
