Korala Pass opens for locals

Kathmandu, 13 November: The Korala Pass in Upper Mustang, which was shut down for several years, has been opened for local people from the Nepal-China bordering villages from today. 

Local officials from both sides jointly inaugurated the opening ceremony amidst a function today. 

Three containers carrying goods such as Tibetan salt, tea, butter, and blankets, as a gift for the people from bordering villages Lomathand and Loghekar Damorad Kunda, arrived from the Tibetan side and entered the Nepal side. 

The border pass is open for the people from the bordering villages for the time being.
