In a significant move towards sustainable and eco-friendly transportation, Vaidya Energy, a subsidiary of Vaidya’s Organisation of Industries and Trading Houses (VOITH), has joined hands with the renowned Bengaluru-based electric scooter manufacturer, Ather Energy, to introduce their first electric scooter, the Ather 450X, in Nepal. This exciting development marks a major stride in the realm of electric mobility in the country. The Ather 450X is a remarkable scooter, not just for its sporty design but also for its advanced features and performance capabilities.
Nepal Welcomes the Ather 450X
Vaidya Energy, the authorized distributor of Ather electric scooters in Nepal, is all set to launch the Ather 450X in two variants – the low-range (2.9 kWh battery) and the high-range (3.7 kWh battery) versions. This launch event is scheduled for November 5th, creating a buzz of excitement among potential electric vehicle enthusiasts in the country. While the official pricing details are yet to be disclosed, it is anticipated that the Ather 450X will be competitively priced in the range of approximately NPR 3.80-4.20 lakhs in Nepal.
The arrival of the Ather 450X is poised to redefine the electric mobility landscape in Nepal, offering consumers a sustainable and high-performance option for their daily commuting needs. This innovative electric scooter will face competition from models like the TVS iQube and the Segway E125 in the Nepalese market.
Sporty Design and Aesthetic Appeal
The Ather 450X stands out with its striking, sporty design. It features a sharp and angular front apron with a seamlessly integrated LED headlight. The rear of the scooter boasts a distinctive LED tail light and a robust grab rail. The 450X is set to be available in six vibrant colors, namely Cosmic Black, Salt Green, Space Grey, Still White, True Red, and Lunar Grey. These options cater to a diverse range of aesthetic preferences. In terms of dimensions, the scooter measures 1891 mm in length, 739 mm in width, and 1114 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 1296 mm and a ground clearance of 170 mm.
Cutting-Edge Technology at Your Fingertips
One of the standout features of the Ather 450X is its state-of-the-art seven-inch TFT touchscreen display. This advanced display boasts an impressive 2 GB of RAM, a quad-core 1.3 GHz processor, and 16 GB of storage. The scooter runs on the Android Open Source OS (AOSP) and comes with Bluetooth connectivity, enabling riders to stay connected on the go. The Ather 450X is packed with numerous innovative features, including park assist, auto hold, a generous 22-liter storage capacity, side-stand sensors, auto indicator cut-off, emergency stop signal, a false safe feature, and disc brakes on both wheels for enhanced safety and control.
Efficient and High-Performance Powertrain
The Ather 450X is available with two lithium-ion IP67-rated battery pack options, providing flexibility to users. The 2.9 kWh version offers a certified range of 111 km, while the 3.7 kWh variant extends this range to an impressive 150 km. Ather claims that the scooter can accelerate from 0-40 kmph in just 3.3 seconds and reach a top speed of 90 kmph. Charging the scooter is convenient and hassle-free. The low-range variants can be charged from 0-100% in approximately 8.36 hours using a home charger, while the high-range variants take around 5.45 hours for a full charge. Additionally, Ather provides a 3-year or 30,000 km (whichever comes first) warranty on their batteries, ensuring peace of mind for the customers.
