Kathmandu, 6 November: Production of organic (compost) fertilizer has been started using Japanese technology in collaboration with Panchkhaal Municipality of Kavrepalanchok. Municipal chair Mahesh Kharel inaugurated the organic fertilizer center established in Jirokilo, located in Ward No. 4, on Sunday during a program.
The production of organic fertilizers by Japanese technology started by collecting rotting garbage from Panchkhal town and using cow dung, leaves, and leaves. Usha Giri, Managing Director of Rikishi Compost Pvt. Ltd., said that the center will produce fertilizer using Japanese technology (CNBM) according to the standards of the Nepali government. He informed that organic fertilizers are produced by combining carbon, nitrogen, minerals and bacteria. “Fertilizer made from that mixture will loosen the soil and provide the soil with all the necessary nutrients for the plants,” Giri said.
For the production of organic fertilizers, the center has received assistance in the management of non-decomposable garbage and forest leaves throughout the city.
The production of organic fertilizer has been started in Panchkhal using the CNBM technology of Japan-based Green Yamakaji Compost Pvt. Ltd. The center said that education, training, awareness, and technical and consulting services will be provided to local farmers about fertilizer.
Kharel said that the establishment of the center will bring a lot of relief to farmers at a time when it is difficult to produce enough agricultural produce due to a lack of chemical fertilizers.
“The city will coordinate and support garbage collection and other necessary activities,” said Kharel.
