NRNA elects Dr Badri KC its new chair

Kathmandu, 20 October: The NRNA conference held in Kathmandu has elected Dr Badri KC (Russia) as its new chair for two years. 

In the online election, KC left behind three other candidates. 

KC received 1378 votes against his nearest rival Rajendra Kumar Sharma (Qatar), who bagged 1281 votes. 

In the election, the other two candidates for the post of chairman, Maheshkumar Shrestha (Japan) bagged 1255 votes and Rabina Thapa (USA) bagged 47 votes. 

Accordingly, Dr Binod Shrestha (Australia), Dr Hemraj Sharma (UK), Khagendra Neupane (Malaysia), Raju Regmi (Qatar), Ramsharan Simkhada (UK) and Rabinprasad Sherchan (Japan) have been elected vice chairman of the Association. 

Roshan Thapa (Jambiya) elected from the youths and Rojina Pradhan from the Women have been elected vice chairman of the Association. 

Gauriraj KC (USA) was elected as the general secretary. 

This time, NRNs who didn’t come to Kathmandu, were able to vote Online. 

Meanwhile, those who defeated the election, have blamed Chair KC for online vote hacking for his victory. They have said to knock on the court’s door.
