BABBLES

BY BABBLER
Currently, there are 36107 “people’s representatives”, who were elected in different levels of elections and receive monthly salaries and allowances. Besides, a large number of the personal aides, advisors, and experts assigned by the political leadership enjoy monthly salaries, allowances, and other facilities, including vehicles, from the government.
In the present picture, politics has become a factory employing “people’s representatives,” and the finance minister is managing their salaries and facilities by taking debts.
Swarnim Wagle and Gagan Thapa were found advocating the benefits of shutting down the government-run industries. In the absence of such industries, our youths have been compelled to go abroad for jobs, whereas, our country has turned into a factory producing political workers, including Gagan Thapa and Swornim Wagle, who have no interest in stopping youths from going abroad.
Debt burden
In the fiscal year 2022/23, the total loan burden of the nation will be scaled at 22 trillion 21 billion rupees.
In the fiscal year 2017/18 it was 10 trillion, 48 billion rupees.
The debt burden of the government has doubled in the past five years.
Along with the start of the new fiscal year 2023–2024, the government collected 20 billion rupees in the month of Saun and again issued a loan paper demanding 10 billion rupees this month.
The debt is for paying dues from the previous fiscal year and managing salaries for government employees as the government failed to meet the target revenue.
The reason is clear: the general sector, or non-productive sector, has increased but is unable to increase revenue. It has happened because the government, without homework, increased its expenditure, and now, to meet the non-productive sector expenditure, it needed loans. Yet, the government is reluctant to find ways to reduce expenditure, including the removal of the seven provincial structures, which have failed to justify their existence.
Students going abroad for higher education
For decades, Babbler recalls, this Weekly had published a series of articles on the possibility of making Nepal an educational and medical hub, attracting foreign students and patients. Contrastingly, the partisan government policy of converting educational institutions into a political platform, spoiled all the educational institutions, and now, the universities and colleges are facing a scarcity of students and are going to close down soon.
Different institutions were producing nurses in the country. Due to the government’s unfriendly policy, many institutions have been closed down, and Nepalis are going to the Indian cities across the border to study nursing courses.
Nepal could be the hub for the study of medical science, but when entrepreneurs come to invest in establishing medical institutions and the government tries to distribute licenses, a section of the population comes to oppose it. Dr Govinda KC immediately appears to stage a hunger strike. Today, Nepali people are going to foreign countries and spending billions of rupees to study medical science. Indeed, the country’s economy has been ruined due to those “experts” who are against making the nation self-reliant.
BRICS expansion
The new composition of the BRICS will control 80% of world oil production — with the addition of Saudi Arabia, the United Arab Emirates, and Iran to the BRICS, the Union will be able to control the lion’s share of the world’s oil production. The same goes for the sharp GDP growth of the new BRICS countries. It will amount to 30% of world GDP and exceed $30 trillion.

Different parties, different themes
Organized looting is the only aim
Split and unification
A normal game!

India has become the fourth nation to send a rocket to the Moon.
India has become the fifth largest economy by overtaking its former lord, London.
In India, around one-third of the people don’t have a toilet at home.
India is also known to be the country with the highest number of children suffering from malnutrition.
India sets its average income based on the earning of a pig farmer from Bihar, Mukesh Chamar and a resident of Mumbai, Mukesh Ambani.
This bleak picture of India is overshadowed. However, the crowd is celebrating their joys.
There is no doubt that this achievement made through spending 75 million US dollars would make a significant change in the lifestyle of the Indian people.
However, this achievement has surely become the “Brahmastra” for Modi in the next elections.
Those who are mixing chemicals in water and searching for water on Mars are ruling on Earth.
After one decade, there will be a war not for petrol but for water.
QUOTES OF THE WEEK
I am not anti-federalist, but constructing the residence buildings for the state chiefs and chief ministers in the Valley is a stupid idea and a misuse of government treasury.
Aalok Subedi
The country is about to become bankrupt. Construction of a luxurious bungalow costing about one billion rupees for the chief ministers and heads of the seven provinces in Kathmandu is worthless. If the said fund was used for industrialization, at least employment could be provided to our youths, meanwhile, the country’s production could be increased. If provincial chiefs are staying in Kathmandu, what is the significance of the provinces?
Ratna Sansar Shrestha
In the name of infrastructural development, the trend of constructing buildings, considered to be non-productive investment, has increased. Let’s stop such practices immediately.

Pregnant women are compelled to give birth to their children in an unsafe manner on the roads, the roofs and walls of the schools where poor children are studying are not safe, car accidents occur daily due to poor roads, and citizens are risking their lives in remote areas.
The buildings for the provincial chiefs are a paradise for a handful of people.
Nirmal Prasai
Even if the Congress and Maoist parties merge, no one can stop them from reaching for the grave. They started the politics of communalism and religion. Now it will destroy them.
Nilamkumar Sharma
Caste reservation has fueled caste discrimination, and secularism has fueled the conversion of religion.
Those leaders should be jailed for making a speech about creating a province with ethnic identity and inviting a religious-ethnic war in the country.
Narendra Bikram Chand
Our international prestige has declined in the Loktantrik era.
Dipak Gyawali
Former UML and present NC MP Bageshwor Baba. Officials of the Pashupati Development Board of the secular government welcomed him. Narayankaji and other influential ministers of the republican government were among those who paid a darshan to the Baba. And finally, all the blame goes to the Hindu Rastra!
Jayantnath Khanal
We attempted to become a citizen from the status of the people, now, the reality is that we have become the “Raiti” (slaves) of those “Gundruke” (worst) leaders!

NC and Communists’ contribution: Capturing 119 ropanis of land belonging to the Bal Mandir; capturing 143 ropanis land of the Lalita Niwas; capturing 6500 ropanis of land of the Giribandhu Tea Estate and capturing 390 ropanis of land belonging to the Tikapur Development Committee.
Conclusion: King Mahendra did not take action on them without any reason. Without the demise of the NC and Communists, the nation cannot be built.
Dahal Chhetri Bashu
King Mahendra’s idea for developing Tikapur as a planned city and King Birendra’s idea for developing planned Kathmandu Valley have been destroyed by those “offensive political brokers”
Rabindra Mishra
What could be the reason for sending local students abroad by shutting down medical institutions in the country? If those institutions were not functioning under the government guidelines, a strong monitoring mechanism could be developed for resolving the problem.
Devendra Bartaula
Neighbouring countries have successfully landed rockets on the Moon. In Nepal, the investors don’t get a license to run a medical college and students are compelled to go to foreign countries for study. And those political leaders define the “offensive move”!
Yugdrashta Pravat
After republicanism, federalism and secularism became difficult to sustain, the Westerners initiated the strategy of intensifying ethnic and religious conflict in Nepal.
The act of remaining silent against such activities as if we are unaware of the gameplan is a shame.
Roshan Sibakoti
To free the nation from crisis, the federal republican system should be ended.
Kamal Thapa
When the court directs to make an individual a prime minister, they accept it; when the court says don’t be unified, stay separately, they accept it and when the court gives directives against the MPs’ Development Fund, it becomes objectionable for them.
When politics crosses the borderline, who remains silent by measuring the borderline?
Muma Ram Khanal
Oh God! Moon is very close for Modi but Manipur remains far away!
